Old Fashioned Hot Fudge Sauce
Pantry ready ingredients! Mix up a batch, serve over vanilla ice cream with a dish of crushed peanuts, almonds, pecans or crushed peppermints on the side and impress with ease. Delicious. Simple. The New England way.

- 2 Medium Whisk

Ingredients
- 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
- ½ cup Evaporated Milk
- 2 t. Vanilla
- 3 T. Butter If using salter butter, omit salt in recipe
- ½ t. Salt* if using unsalted butter; if using salted butter – omit
- 1 ½ c. Granulated sugar
Instructions
- Into a saucepan, add: 1 cup dark chocolate chips½ cup evaporated milk¼ teaspoon salt* 1½ cups granulated sugarWhisk together over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Within minutes the chocolate chips will melt, the sugar dissolve and all the ingredients will come together. Turn off heat and stir in the vanilla and butter. Done within minutes and ready to serve!! It's that simple.This recipe makes a thick and creamy, rich fudge sauce to be used for many desserts as a sauce on a plate, a drizzle or topping. Thin with additional milk as desired. Better to start thick and thin as desired than to make it too thin – you can’t go back!

Can easily be made ahead and reheated for a quick dessert topping or sauce.
Use other extract flavors for an interesting change of accent! Peppermint, orange, almond, etc.
